Summary:

In September 2009, the Civil Rights Division of the US Department of Justice (the Division) opened an investigation into the Suffolk County Police Department (SCPD) in New York, focused on patterns of biased-based policing against Latinos and person with limited or no English proficiency. In January 2014, the parties entered into a memorandum of agreement, which remains in effect.
