Summary:

In June 2005, the Civil Rights Division of the US Department of Justice (the Division) opened an investigation into the Beacon Police Department (BPD) in New York, focusing on use of force. In December 2010, the Division and the BPD entered into a memorandum of agreement, which terminated in August 2016.
