Summary:

In November 2012, the Civil Rights Division of the US Department of Justice (the Division) opened an investigation into the Albuquerque Police Department (APD) in New Mexico. In April 2014, the Division issued a findings letter identifying a pattern or practice of excessive force, including deadly force. In late 2014, the parties entered into a court- enforced consent decree, which remains in effect.
