The work of the Knowledge Lab centers around 12 core practice areas of policing, covering the most critical issues facing policing today. Information presented for each area offers guidance that is adaptable to individual agencies’ specific environment and community needs. The set of core practice areas were collectively developed based on input from the Bureau of Justice Assistance, the Lab’s 18-member Steering Committee, law enforcement practitioners, and NPI personnel and other affiliated subject matter experts.
